A majority of you have asked how you can access your family information after you have registered and logged into ParishSOFT My Own Church. This can be confusing, as ParishSOFT doesn't give any content in their system after accessing the My Family module in My Own Church.
To access your Family Details, click on the "My Family" tab, then click on "Family Detail" below the "My Family" tab. A new window will open showing you your family information. You can also edit* your family and member records by clicking on "Edit Details". For more information on navigating through ParishSOFT My Own Church, check out the video below.
*Note that any changes need to be approved by a parish team member before they are committed.
One of the great features in ParishSOFT My Own Church is the ability to upload pictures of your family. This gives us as a staff the ability to put faces to a family, as well as post your family picture to My Own Church's pictoral directory. Only those that have access to My Own Church can view your family picture.
To upload a picture of your family, log into ParishSOFT My Own Church, then click "My Family", then "Family Detail", then click "Edit Details".
At the top-left of the window, click the "Add" link under the silouette picture. From there you can upload a picture of your family.
If you wish to not have your family picture shown in the My Own Church pictoral directory, you can simply uncheck the box "Publish Photo for Pictorial Directory". This will still keep your family picture in our database, but prevents it from showing up in My Own Church for other families to see.
We had some questions in regard to some items on the paper census forms, mainly with the "Role" and "Status" section. These paper census forms were generated by our ParishSOFT database system, and unfortunately we did not catch the "Role" and "Status" sections of the forms.
Role implies the role in one parishioner's family. Some examples are head of household, husband, wife, son, daughter, etc. Status implies your family's active status with the parish.
Since these two items can be fairly ambiguous, you do not need to fill these two parts out. You can leave them blank. We do apologize for any confusion.
If you have any questions, please contact the church office at 402-391-3606. Thank you!
